The Bond Estate is a physical winery and, above all, it’s a philosophy of wine creation, from a single variety (Cabernet Sauvignon), harvested from vineyards of specific characteristics in Napa Valley.
Bond results in the joint vision of Bill Harlan (Harlan Estate) and Bob Levy, his winemaker, to create a selection of scattered vineyards for several third-party properties.
You don’t just buy grapes from each of these properties. Instead, they develop a unique partnership with the owners, and start managing the vineyards with their own team.
Melbury
It is a tribute to a historic area in London where the owners reside most of the year. Since its debut, with the vintage of 1999, the consistent characteristics of this Melbury are the red fruits (currants, cherries), spices and the aroma of violets.
Its elegance and flexible texture define the structure of this wine. The particular exposure of this 7-hectare rocky vineyard, on the southern-facing slope of Lake Hennessey, allows the vineyards to capture the morning sun and moderate afternoon temperatures.

Quella
Made its debut with the vintage of 2006, the name derives from the German word for a primitive source or an artesian hole.
This property is inclined to the southwest, where the site is an ancient riverbed composed of sidewalk and stones intertwined with bags of tuft (volcanic ash) that were erected during the last volcanic activity in the area.
Quella exhibits an opaque purple, blackberry, dense color and concentrated with blueberry fruits on the nose and palate. With lots of body and notes of forest floor, spring flowers, and graphite.
Subtle and vibrant finish.

St. Eden
It comes from an 11-hectare rocky hill that is part of a beautiful property located north of Oakville Crossroad. Eden is a historical reference to the designation of this region in the maps of the nineteenth century.
Born in vintage 2001, it safely shows a great focus, an opulent “sweet” center with notes of cassis, bitter chocolate, and roasted herbs.
With a mineral and broad touch on the palate, the wine consistently features fine tannins and a lush concentration.

Vecina
It was created from the Spanish word for neighbor, as it is the closest property to the Bond cellar. The beautiful volcanic land terrace of this property lies in the western footland of Oakville.
It’s always powerful, intense, and tasty wine, with characteristics creased to blackberry fruits, wild forest floor, and mineral touches.
Opaque purple color and notes of paint, charcoal, truffle, burnt earth, and many black and blue fruits.
A magnificent wine!

Pluribus
It refers to the Latin word for “many”, and was chosen for meaning the various facets involved in the creation of a good wine: from the sun, the soil and the climate of a vineyard, to the team of people who guide a wine through its evolution.
Pluribus, which debuted in the vintage of 2003, and defined as a bold, rich and concentrated wine; Elements of dark plum, roasted coffee, and cedar aromas are inherent in all crops.
It is quite massive and imposing, yet quite mysterious. Graphite, herbs, black cherries, smoke, and tar give the wine darker shades that are combined with the full strength of the wine and its tannins.
