Mosel
The Mosela, Saarland, and Ruwer rivers glide through narrow, tortuous curves through a territory in which the Celts and Romans already grew wine 2,000 years ago. The Mosla region, which bears the German name Mosel, is the oldest wine region in Germany and the largest wine-growing region on slopes. The south or southwest-facing slopes and terraces provide an excellent microclimate for grapes, as well as for rare plants and animals. That’s why riesling’s mineral and elegant wines from the slopes, produced in the Mosela, Saarand and Ruwer region, are among the best white wines in the world.
