Ribera del duero

The Spanish wine region Ribera del Duero is now known worldwide, but it wasn’t always, 20 years ago, the Ribera del Duero region was unknown to most wine enthusiasts.

Wine has been produced in Ribera del Duero since the Romans and the Roman mosaics of the god of wine Baccus (Dionysus in Greek mythology) can be found in the area. The D.O. Ribera del Duero wine region was recognized in 1982 and is located in the Spanish region Castilla y León.
